E-Alert: Statewide Healthcare Facility Transformation Funding II10/29/2018
It is our understanding that the announcement of the awards for the New York Statewide Healthcare Facility Transformation Funding II offering will be made in mid-November, followed shortly after by a release of an RFP for New York Statewide Healthcare Facility Transformation Funding III. These programs offer capital funds for projects which help healthcare providers transform themselves to focus on community based care and to support the statewide goals of reducing avoidable hospitalizations and emergency department visits. These grants are for capital expenses only—not programmatic expenses.
If you have already applied for the SHCFT program, you should anticipate an email notification within the next several weeks. There will also likely be a press release from the Governor’s office with the awardees announced. If you are not successful, you should consider resubmitting your application with the new RFP that is soon to be announced. It has been our experience that applications are sometimes approved on the second try. If you are successful, be prepared for an active period of contracting with the state for the funding. Remember—the state will only reimburse for capital that has not already been purchased. If you have already done some of the projects you proposed, give us a call about how you might proceed.
If you have not applied for a SHCFT grant before, now is the time to begin preparing for the next RFP. The process is rigorous. We are prepared to assist you.
