2020-01 Getting ICD 10 Coding Right for Patient Driven Payment Model (PDPM) Recording
(No NAB credits)
Last year, CMS changed the way skilled nursing facilities are reimbursed for Medicare Part A services in what was the most significant change since PPS began. As of October 1, 2019, the RUGS IV system was replaced by the Patient Driven Payment Model (PDPM). This transition requires skilled nursing facility leaders to rethink and strategize their approach to rehabilitation and complex care.
Accurate ICD-10 coding and compliance are critical for reimbursement under PDPM, and this session explains how to properly code for success under the new model.
At the conclusion of this one-hour recorded webinar, participants will be able to:
- Explain the changes being implemented with the transition from RUG IV to PDPM
- Describe the importance of ICD-10 coding for PDPM
- Review the critical elements of ICD-10 coding that facility staff need to incorporate into their practice
